FAMILIA is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization which, through a developed associates' network, acts at the level of the Republic of Serbia, with the objective to ensure foster care of the children deprived of appropriate parental care, by initiating, developing and acknowledging various comprehensive models of support to children, biological and alternative families, as well as to professionals, all in line with the best interests of the child.

»Our vision is a community where we would feel secure and like to live in because it supports family environment as an encouraging one for development of adolescents' potentials, but is also sensitive to the needs of other generations, it possesses developed, diverse institutions in terms of their contents and organization, which enable meeting the needs of all citizens and guarantee exercise of the right to information, choice and availability of services, and it develops and fosters relations based on trust, reliability, responsibility, inter-generational support, recognition of diversity and the right to privacy.«

VISION OF THE ORGANIZATION

In 3-5 years FAMILIA will become a resource centre for development of the model of foster care of children, providing information and knowledge to the professional public and citizens, it will be stably financed , with developed dislocated associates' network and partner relationship with social welfare system institutions , in view of developing c omplementary services and resources , along with established mutual trust and trust of beneficiaries .

Podsecamo da u Srbiji, pored 2164 deteta koja su zbrinuta u hraniteljskim porodicama, ima još znatan broj njih, oko 1900 svih uzrasta, kojima je potrebna ljubav i nega u drugoj porodici. Iako u procesu reforme socijalne zaštite, sistem, odnosno Ministarstvo za rad, zapošljavanje i socijalnu politiku ima vodecu ulogu, razliciti cinioci društva u tom procesu mogu da doprinesu, od lokalne zajednice, nevladinih organizacija, do samih korisnika na koje se te promene i odnose.

Osim toga, potrebe korisnika su široke i brojne, tako da je pored institucija sistema potrebno angažovanje citavog spektra aktera i njihova medusobna saradnja. Nadamo se da ce aktivnosti FAMILIA-e doprineti ovom procesu.
